This is developed from my standard response to the emails I get asking me if I will marry someone. I mean, the fact that there is a me out there somewhere that said yes to each of those emails (actually, an infinite number of me's) is an easy way to defuse any potential I-am-not-sure-if-this-person-is-trying-to-be-funny-or-serious-or-is-just-crazy-in-which-case-let's-tread-very-lightly-here-Dante situation.

Honestly, though? If the above concept doesn't give you reason to be hopeful or contented or delightfully awestruck at the possibilities of the universe, you really need to change your perspective. Possibly on everything.
